Cousin Lori's "Farm"

On our way home Wednesday, May 4, we stopped in Walla Walla to get our car that we had left at my cousin Lori's home since my Mom parted ways with us there to head north to Eastern Washington while we headed west to Western Washington.

We all needed a potty break about that time, so it worked out great. While Matt was busy dutifully transferring our things from my Mom's van into our car, Lori took us out in her yard and let Jay hold their new baby chicks!!

David really didn't know what to think...but he liked them!
This was the chicken cage filled with young chicks that aren't quite laying eggs yet (not quite old enough). Once they are older, they'll be moved in with the more mature chickens.
And here is the pen of mature, laying chickens!

Cousin Lori had Jay "help" check to see if there were any eggs to collect. Sure enough, there was one in there. Jay thought that was SO COOL! Here he is offering to give the chickens the newly collected egg. Ha! :)
The 4 piggies were cute to see, too. They will be fed, raised, and sold at the fair later this fall.
They have a horse, as well. Cousin Lori also has a bountiful vegetable garden and gorgeous flowerbeds. Yes, it's quite the little "farm."

I must admit, the baby chicks were the highlight! They are just the cutest little darling things!

Thanks for letting us park our vehicle and then allowing us the short and sweet visit on Wednesday, Cousin Lori! What an unexpected, wonderful treat it was for all of us!
