Amy - 18 months old!

Amy turned 18 months old on February 15th and had her 18 month well-check appointment with the pediatrician today. Here are her latest stats.

Today's Weight: 23 lbs., 8 oz. (50th - 75th%)

Today's Length/Height: 33 inches (75th - 90th%)

Today's Head Circumference: 13-1/4" (50th%)

• She walks, runs, and can walk backward - is such a pro, she rarely falls
• She can walk up the stairs standing, just holds on to the railing for steadiness
• She descends the stairs by quickly scooching down them on her rump
• She uses utensils to feed herself
• Enjoys scribbling on paper
• Imitates cleaning/helping around the house
• Her temper tantrums are definitely ramping up
• Shouts "No!" when we warn of a time-out for misbehaving
• Has a very loud shout/voice when she makes her desires and/or protests known
• She has quite the expanding vocabulary - parrots most words we say

• Enjoys pretend play as seen here in these two photos taken this past President's Day weekend at Nana and PopPop's house.
• Can hold her own with her older brothers - can't you just hear her shout of "No! Stay out of my space!" to David in the picture below?? I love that David is sweetly smiling back at her. He truly is kind to her the majority of the time.
• What she lacks in hair, she makes up for with her personality.

The check-up found her to be doing great on all accounts, except for the fact she is getting over a cold and is currently fighting a really bad double ear infection. I took her in to see the doctor in the middle of January and she was fighting a double ear infection then. We did the 10 days, 2 x per day of prescription strength ammoxicillin and had her neck adjusted by my terrific chiropractor. But then this second cold descended on her and obviously flared up the ear infection again. This time we're taking prescription strength cefdinir to fight the ear infection, taking Vitafruit drops, and I hope to take her in for one more adjustment soon.

She received her Hepatitis A shot and we were on our way.

Grateful that I have such a spunky, relatively healthy and very happy little girl.
